Q. How do I find the artist of my choice on GoDirect Entertainment? A. Listings are split into 3 broad sections:
Within each section, you may browse through the various categories to view the various entertainers and businesses listed. Should you wish to only view listings that are based in a particular State, this can be set by making the appropriate selection in the grey box located towards the top of each page. Similarly, if you would prefer to view an alphabetical list of all listings within a section, you may do so by selecting the "bowse by listing name" option. Alternatively, you may search all listings for any term or phrase. Q. How do I book entertainment with GoDirect Entertainment? A. Browse our site to view the wide variety of acts and entertainment-related businesses listed. Once you have found an act or busness that you feel may be suitable for your event, click on the bookings tab, fill in the Booking Enquiry Form and submit. GoDirect Entertainment is not a Booking Agency - we simply forward you enquiry directly to the entertainer or business. You can expect a response within 1 business day. In most instances, you will be contacted by phone by the entertainer or business to discuss the event in greater detail. Should an entertainer or business already have a commitment on the date of your event and hence not be available, you will receive a notification by email. You negotiate the details directly with the entertainer or business concerned. GoDirect Entertainment is not involved in finalising the booking or collection of performance fees. This is arranged directly with the entertainer. Q. How do I know if the enquiry has been forwarded to the act/entertainer/business? A. An email is automatically sent to you, notifying you that your enquiry has been forwarded to that entertainer or business. Q. How do I find out if the entertainer/business is available? A. Fill in the Booking Enquiry Form. The entertainers/businesses listed have agreed to respond within 1 business day. In most instances, you will be contacted by phone by the entertainer or business to discuss the event in greater detail. Should an entertainer or business already have a commitment on the date of your event and hence not be available, you will receive a notification by email. Q. Is there any cost or fee for a booking enquiry? A. This is a totally free service to the enquirer.
Q: How much will the entertainment cost? A. Performance Fees vary from entertainer to entertainer. You negotiate directly with the entertainer without any middleman involved. You come to an arrangement which is suitable for you and the entertainer. The final fee will usually depend on a range of issues:
Q. How much deposit should I pay to the artist/entertainers/business? A. It is normal practice to pay a deposit once an agreement is reached with an entertainer. Typically this is in the range from 10% to 50% of the total performance fee. Q. What is a booking contract? Booking contract is simply a written statement setting out the details of the agreement reached for a particular event. While it is common practice to have a booking contract it is a matter between you and the entertainer. We would suggest it is a sensible practice to have one - it greatly reduces the possibility of misunderstandings. Q. When and how do I pay the artist/band/entertainers? A. Payment terms varies from entertainer to entertainer and is best negotiated directly with the entertainer concerned. Usually the balance for a performance is due on the night of the event. GoDirect Entertainment is not involved in your negotiations with the entertainer and is not responsible for the collection or refund of any fees on the entertainer's or business's behalf. Q. How do I let the artists/entertainers know when to start and finish their performance? A. It is recommended you supply a running sheet/time sheet to the entertainer well in advance of the day of the performance. A running sheet typically includes items such as:
Q: How far in advance of the actual date should one book an act/performer? A. This can be done as soon you have a date, and an approximate time of performance. Wedding entertainment can be booked up to one year in advance. A holding deposit is normally required. Q. Am I obligated to supply food and beverages on the performance night? A. This is known as the hospitality “rider”, and should be negotiated with the entertainer directly. Q. Can I hear/meet/view the act before signing a booking contract? A. It is entirely up to the entertainer, but generally - Yes. This is best discussed/arranged when you are contacted by the entertainer. Q: How can I be sure the entertainers/artist won’t cancel at the last minute? A. This is the advantage of dealing direct with the entertainer concerned. You get to know who you are dealing with, and can make arrangements and agreements that are suitable to both parties. Normally a written booking contract/agreement is drawn up. Once signed, the musician is obligated to honour the contract, as are you. Deposit, Payment and cancellation issues should be stated in the booking contract. Q. If I am not satisfied with the performance, can I ask for a refund or fee reduction? A. This must be negotiated directly with the artist/entertainers/business concerned. GoDirect Entertainment is not involved in your negotiations with the entertainer and is not responsible for the collection or refund of any fees on the entertainer's or business's behalf. Of course, GoDirect Entertainment is only interested in listing entertainers and businesses that conduct themselves in a professional manner and offer a quality service.
