BIO

Kevin Hewitt was born in Australia in 1942, into a family who loved music. His father sang and played button accordion, saw and gumleaf and both his brother and sister sang well. When he was old enough to know what t was, he wanted to learn piano. A neighbour gave him lessons for a year or so but he quickly found a talent for playing popular songs by ear. He started playing for private parties, dances and talent quests while still very young and he also did a mean Al Jolson impersonation.

Throughout his youth, Kevin played for weddings, parties, anything, as a solo pianist, and as part of local dance and rock bands. He also joined the local town brass band and played trumpet, bugle, tuba, trombone, saxophone and button and piano accordions. Eventually, his early career as a radio disc jockey got in the way and Kevin’s playing became a hobby. He has owned numerous organs and electronic keyboards and music has always been an integral part of his life.

Now, have retired from work, he has again gone public with his broad tastes in music, and his talent with the latest of keyboards.

His pleasant crooners’ voice is flexible enough to allow him to perform most genres of popular music.

After 60 years of playing to please, Kevin brings experience, reliability, professionalism, polish and a ready rapport to all audiences who have survived the heavy rock eras.
