Hanging Fire started with a bunch of guys who worked together looking to have a jam. One thing led to another and we ended up signed up as the entertainment for a company Christmas party.

It turned out to be a great gig, so we carried on from there as a great party band,

The band's line-up:

  • Josh Philpot (vocals)
  • Ken Triffit (Drums)
  • Mark DiFiore (Diffa – Bass)
  • Mike Beaumont (Lead Guitar)
  • Brendan Walsh (Rhythm & Lead Guitar)

Our ages? well from 30’s through to 50’s, so we’ve got a pretty wide range of influences. Brendan and Josh have been playing and singing together since high school when they were trying to pick up girls. Mike and Ken have been playing in bands off and on for the past thirty years. Diffa is a classically trained pianist as well as a guy with good gig experience.

Lots of classic rock like Stones & Beatles, with a healthy number of new numbers and we certainly love our nineties alt-rock: Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Foo Fighters. Always keeping a good repretoire of crowd pleasers eg... Blister in the Sun, What I like about you, and 500 Miles

Oh, and we not only perform good classic Aussie rock, our set list constantly expanding.Depending on the notice, we’re happy to learn your "special" song.

Playing music is our passion and nothing is better than getting a great crowd reaction. So, as far as where we sit – we’re a great choice for when you want a pub style band that’s going to rock.

Our goal is to get people up and dancing and having a good time. As a result, if you’re really keen on the whole band thing – there’s a good chance we’re going to meet your budget.
