Phil Stormer

Profile Songlist Bookings
Based in: Sydney NSW
Line up(s) available: solo

It’s been over 16 years since Phil Stormer came across his mother's guitar, prying it from its case and blowing the settled dust away, holding it gently in his little hands, strumming his fingers lightly across the strings, he liked what he saw.

The fascination continues!

Now at 21, Phil Stormer continues to hold to the little wooden frame that caught his attention all those years ago. Though not always as gently or lightly anymore! His hands grace the instrument now with strength, confidence and well rehearsed exacting, in the expression of well crafted and delightful music

Phil Stormer's style is best described as instrumental, solo, acoustic guitar. Phil draws inspiration for the most part, from the incredible Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel and the late great “fingerpicker” Chet Atkins.

His compositions span from the bright and playful to the dark and melancholic, his arrangements, sensitive and explorative.

Phil's younger years found him steeped in the classical tradition of listening and practice, however in the dawning of his teens, he began to explore music of more variety, the traditions of Jazz, Celtic and Spanish having all played a part, music that has come to bear great influence on the young guitarist's appeal leaving his taste or musical palette vast and eclectic to say the least!

In performance Phil Stormer is as intense and focused as he is joyful and entertaining, wowing audiences at showcase events, talent quests, functions, and concerts. Phil has found himself and his beloved guitar with several radio appearances, press reviews and articles, and in front of large crowds, who's appreciative cheer and standing ovations have been testament to this young performers technical ability and musical sensitivity.

Now with two albums and award winning music video's to his name, this young man has a fine future ahead of him, treat your ears to the sounds of what has been hard work and dedication, countless late night practice sessions, and a passion so rare in someone so young.
