Longyard rose from a few guys getting together back in 2001 who were playing rustic rock . The band has now moved towards a bluesier, harder-edged, up-beat selection of songs. Influences are swinging boogie blues, cajun/gumbo, rock & roll, rockabilly.

Liam Webb on Drums started playing from his early school days and has drummed in numerous bands in Melbourne. Liam loves all styles of music and Longyard provides the perfect vehicle for his music passion.

Eric "Fretless" Newman on Bass has been through a wide range of music via pop, rock, jazz, fusion, blues and finding a natural home in roots based music and previously UK-based.

Pete MacDonald on guitar and vocals started playing when he was 13 years old; and hasn't looked back. From garage bands to the pub scene and back. Pete is a natural born performer.

Steve McKinnon on guitar and vocals ( including slide ) has always has a passion for music! After playing and writing and recording in various independent Melbourne based bands, Steve has finally begun pursuing his true musical passion with Longyard.

Chris 'Yarra' Franklin on Harp will seduce your senses with his harmonica, soaking in the blues for 25 years, but only recently stepping up to the microphone with his cherished blues-harp. Chris plays deep from his soul and remembers the first time he heard the blues. He instantly connected.
