The Dave Catlin Band grew from a chance meeting between Singer, Guitarist, Songwriter Dave Catlin and Drummer Glenn Keating.

It was at a party when Glenn walked into a room to hear Dave playing along to Tommy Emmanuel and sat their listening for the next few hours after which time a jam was arranged with Dave playing Guitar and doing vocals, Glenn on drums and a man named Julp playing bass with covers being the order of the day.

Dave and Glenn quickly found themselves understanding each other musically and at Glenn's insistence quickly ditched the covers and focused on Dave's originals, the two found this extremely rewarding and quickly developed a weekly regime where they could not only jam together but also discuss their love of music.

Julp moved on fairly soon after to pursue other interests and hence The Dave Catlin Band was born, a two piece outfit formed out of necessity rather than a desire to follow what seems to be a fairly popular trend of guitar and drums.

The pair quickly found a groove that remains today as their trade mark sound, the steady walking paced chugging rhythm dominated by Dave's ability to play a Bass line with his pick and some intricate rhythm and melody with what fingers he has left, backed by Glenn's creative yet steady drumming style that maintains a solid beat followed by wild bursts of energy accenting the dynamics of Dave's haunting song writing style...

Dave Catlin: Started playing Guitar at the age of 9 and through 29 years has developed his own style of flat finger picking Acoustic Blues Guitar and 12 string Lap Steel Guitar. Writing Songs based on life, death and everything in between.

Glenn Keating: started playing Drum at the age of 14 and has developed a unique, creative and rhythmic style of percussion and drums.

Together they blend Acoustic Blues, Roots and Rock, and maybe just a hint of country in their powerful yet heartfelt songs.
