Singer Ann-Maree McKee possesses a voice that seems to have been learnt from singing along to too many Blondie records . . . Although subtle and self-effacing, the guitar work of Bernard Robertson is quite impressive.

On Butterfly from Caterpillar, he infuses the mid to slow tempo with a funky swagger of rhythm guitar that made me think of Prince. Beside the inevitable allusions, the strength of this debut effort lies in the teamwork between McKee and Robertson. – Rory Jeffs, Beat Magazine

Ann-Maree and Bernard – Verdelite – take pleasure in bringing their musicianship and presence to well-known and cherished pop standards. They select songs that translate well to an acoustic format, often surprisingly so, giving audiences the chance to discover a song in a delightfully new way.

The two have been performing together since January 2004. Their electro-cabaret-pop originals band, The Readies, was a drum-machine accompanied duo act for three years until becoming a full band in 2007.

In Verdelite, they also acoustically perform original material from The Readies if desired.
Bernard’s acoustic guitar and Ann-Maree’s vocals are perfect for cafes, bars, restaurants, parties and events. With their own PA system, amplification is easily arranged. Verdelite are based in Melbourne, and are happy to travel interstate or overseas if invited.
