Aerialize: Sydney Aerial Theatre is Sydney's leading aerial and circus arts training centre and performance company. It was founded in 1999 by Shelalagh McGovern and Aimee Thomas to promote circus and aerial skills in the community.
Aerialize has performed at numerous festivals and events such as the Sydney 2000 Olympics opening ceremony, the Ignite! Festival at Homebush Bay, Adelaide Fringe Theatre Festival and The Studio at the Opera House.
Courses
Aerialize runs courses that are fun and challenging in a safe and comfortable environment for people of all ages and abilities. These courses include static trapeze, silks/tissue, Spanish web, acro-balance, acrobatics, hula hoops, juggling, Chinese Pole, contortion and more. Students attend our courses for leisure, recreational, educational and vocational purposes.
All our instructors are highly trained in their field of expertise and perform in major events and shows. Aerialize maintains strong links with circus schools in Australia and overseas. We have an ever expanding network of experienced professional performers and instructors to ensure a dynamic and progressive environment for teachers and students alike.
Aerialize offers our students and the wider community access to expert instruction in aerial and circus arts. Our aim is to provide our students with performance opportunities and industry training, as well as creating innovative and dynamic aerial theatre using professional performers for audiences across Australia and Asia.

Aerial Tissue
Two strips of fabric hung from high in the ceiling, the artist climbs, spins, twists and ties themselves in knots only to drop and catch themselves effortlessly displaying flexibility, strength and grace.

Aerial Superman and Lois Lane Duo Tissue by Aerialize-Sydney Aerial Theatre
Clark Kent goes about his business while Lois Lane climbs the tissue trying to get a photo for her newspaper. Suddenly she slips, drops and becomes tangled and trapped, unable to get free. Without a moment to lose, Superman runs to her rescue. With both performers on one tissue, the two artists twist, drop and fly together performing breathtaking tricks as Superman helps Lois to safety.
This high energy act is a wacky and exciting way to entertain your guests in an evening that they will never forget.

Aerial Ring
An artist performs a stunning act on a steel ring suspended from the ceiling. High in the air the artist moves elegantly with ease, displaying breathtaking balances, flexibility and beauty.
Aerial ring can be performed individually or as a double act where two artists work together lifting and flying one another high above your heads as they hang from the aerial ring.
This act can either be soft and delicate, or fast and upbeat. Depending on your event, we can devise a performance and costume for all occasions.

Aerial Cabaret by Aerialize-Sydney Aerial Theatre
Inspired by Rob Marshall's hit film, Chicago, Aerial Cabaret has an elegant and sassy mixture of aerial ring and singing all in one.
Velmar Kelly, the star of Cabaret, twists, turns and drops around the ring whilst singing the song "All that Jazz."
This elegant and sassy routine is one to make your event unforgettable. Along with her flexible grace, strength and luscious voice, Velmar Kelly is a desire to watch.

Spanish Web
This high energy performance is perfect for any upbeat event.
Watch as the artist climbs a rope and attaches their hand or foot to a loop whilst someone on the ground spins the rope causing the artist above to spin horizontal to the ground in a spectacular fashion, high above your heads.
This impressive and dynamic two person act is not for the feint hearted!!

Trapeze
The Static Trapeze consists of two ropes held together with a steel bar between them. Trapeze acts can be done as a solo, double or on a triple trapeze.

Two tango artists perform an elegant double trapeze routine, flying and catching each other demonstrating grace, agility, extreme balance and flexibility.
