Bois et Charbon have a passion for Traditional Jazz that is felt in every note they play. Clarinettist, saxophonist and vocalist, Paul Winter is a vibrant young performer with extensive experience on the Melbourne Jazz circuit including playing at well known hotels, restaurants and jazz clubs. Guitarists Daniel Charbon and Paul McIver, play in the elegant and sophisticated style instantly recognisable as that of Django Reinhardt. Elise Winterflood on upright bass brings further colour to the band by singing delightful harmonies.
Bois et Charbon play Jazz standards as well as some traditional folk tunes. Their fresh arrangements are imbued with the exuberance of youth and are guaranteed to put a spring in your step. Professional and reliable performers, they have been favourably received at weddings, birthdays, community events and festivals as well as performing to high acclaim at inner city bars and restaurants. With their debut album out soon, watch this space for big things to come. Their line-up is flexible and they are happy to tailor their repertoire to suit their audiences' wishes.
