The Story of Pete Panther "The Lord of the Trance" During the latter part of 2001, Pete Panther with his Promotion Company, Lakeside Promotions, based in Western Australia, had organized a New Zealand Hypnotist to do a Stage performance in a regional City in New Zealand. The day the tickets were to go on sale for the Show was September 11th 2001, unfortunately the same day in America, suicide hijackers were slamming Passenger planes into buildings killing thousands of innocent people. The result of this bad timing was, nobody wanted to go near public buildings, be in crowds, an air of uncertainty swept the World as we all know. The Show was cancelled due to lack of interest, because of the above happening. Pete Panther still had to pay outgoings including forward advertising, Theatre hire bonds etc. This got him thinking, How hard is it to hypnotise people? He reasoned if he learnt the craft, he would be able to put on his own Shows in his own time and help people with giving up smoking, losing weight and other problems that could be helped through hypnotherapy. With no idea how to learn to become a Hypnotist, let alone a Stage Hypnotist, where do you begin? Pete Panther searched all avenues for courses, purchased numerous books and video's on the subject and after a lot of intensive research, came across some great Hypnotherapists in the UK and Stage Hypnotist in Europe to learn from. Pete Panther would like to acknowledge the help he received from these top Hypnotherapists and Stage Hypnotist. After intensive training, Pete Panther gained Diplomas in Complete Mind Therapy, Advanced Stage Hypnosis and is certified as a Master Hypnotic Consultant. Over the years there has been a bit of conflict between Stage Hypnotists and Clinical Hypno-therapists, with good reason sometimes - Remember though, Some of the best Hypno-Therapists in the World today have also been Stage Hypnotists. During the 60's, 70's and 80's there were some Stage Hypnotists that were not doing a lot of kind things to the craft, Pete Panther is out to correct this situation. The problem was, people would go to a Hypnosis Show and see the Stage Hypnotists getting the volunteers to do some weird things, such as stripping off their clothes, embarrassing themselves or others, clucking like chickens and trying to lay square eggs - while highly amusing on Stage, didn't do a thing for the Hypnotherapist. The Clinical Hypno-therapist was trying to get people to believe that they would be treated with the utmost respect when they visited his Clinic. Hard job to convince people of that. Clinical Hypno-therapists are some of the most respected people in our society, with a solution to most problems that cause us a concern in our lives. Each one of Pete Panther Stage Shows is rated as a Family type Show, with no one getting embarrassed or thinking that’s the last time I'm going to see a Hypnotist. Towards the end of the Show, Pete Panther gives his volunteers on Stage (still under hypnosis) a chance to do their own Hypnotherapy session, to take control of their mind for a few moments, to combat their own problems. As Pete Panther knows nothing about his volunteers, he leaves it up to them to combat their problems - smoking, weight control, phobia's etc. This is Pete Panther's gift to his volunteer’s for working on stage with him. During any Pete Panther's Hypnosis Shows the Volunteers will get up to some astounding things, such as singing, dancing, getting stuck to objects, forgetting things, driving imaginary vehicles, talking strange languages, playing instruments, becoming the Hypnotist and numerous other strange things. The Volunteers will have a great time; the audience will have a great time, all under the watchful eye and guidance of Pete Panther .
