The Partners are a dedicated duo, trio or four-piece band based in Melbourne.
Their extensive repertoire ranges from the 60’s to the present with Blues, Pop, Soul, Folk and Soft Rock.
They work well as background music, but in other circumstances they’re known for getting people up dancing.
Bronwyn grew up in South Gippsland in a very musical household with her four brothers all playing instruments. Her mother was involved in organising and producing live local music concerts. Her father is a local identity and was lead vocalist of “Sophisticated Swing” (a 20 piece swing band) and is now performing in a number of bands.
Bronwyn began performing accompanied by her older brother at family functions and weddings and progressed to performing in local venues and competing in competitions. She also sang back-up vocals for the 20 piece big band and has studied at Box Hill Tafe. Bronwyn enjoys teaching and has worked as a vocal coach. Her influences include Vince Jones, Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin and Kate Cebrano
Rob grew up in a small town called Foster also South Gippsland, and was left with nothing to do but practice his guitar. He began performing during high school in his school big band and Celtic band. Being strongly involved in the school music program gave him a chance to play with such players like Greg Spence from the dancing with the stars band, and eventually a chance to tutor at their music camp. During year 11 he started the cover band “Doubletime” and has been playing with them around south Gippsland and Melbourne ever since, one of the highlights of this band was supporting Wilbur Wilde for three annual shows.
For the last three years Rob’s been playing in the jazz group “Good Bait” and other jazz duos/trios. At the moment Rob is studying music performance at Box Hill Tafe and teaches guitar two nights a week. He’s playing regular duo gigs with singer Camm Strutt, and is also playing in Camm’s original band. You might also see him playing around Melbourne in the band “the Conch” who he does a lot of work for. Robs playing is based strongly in blues, some of his main influences are Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy and John Scofield.
