The power, the passion of a five-octave range that can sing anything. We’re talking about the dynamic voice of Nikki Desveaux. Leaves an Impression wherever she goes and has been told she impersonates Tina Turner to a tee! Nikki is one of the best performers Melbourne has to offer. Nikki has been featured in Australia’s finest Crown Casino in Melbourne. A featured Guest Artist as part of the world renowned ‘Riverdance’ orchestra shows and supported such artists as one of the Disco Queens of the 70’s, ‘Thelma Houston’, ‘Max Merrit’ and others at Crown’s Club Odeon. Her biggest gig and proudest yet, has been performing the ‘West Indies National Anthem’ vs Australia, Boxing Day Cricket 2000 at the M.C.G. to a crowd of 56,000 people. Nikki has knocked out audiences at Mercury Lounge, Silvers Toorak (now known as ‘Toorak Lions Hotel), Hyatt Melb., Wrestpoint Casino Hobart, Metro Melb., Spacia Club Tokyo Japan, Martenro Tokyo, Spirit of Tasmania, Mitzies Brighton, Carousel (former) Niteclub Albert Park Lake, Faulkner Club, The Village Green, Spring Racing Carnival Melbourne, Kilsyth Club, Darwin City and too many to mention…having performed over the last 17 years.
Performing songs from Classy Jazz, Sultry Ballads, Raunchy Blues, Dancing Disco to Rock and Pop tunes from the 70’s, 80’s and now! The Corsairs line-up begins as a Duo and performs as either a Trio, 4 pce band or up to a 6pce live Band including male and female vocals with 3 and 4 part harmonies. Nikki is the lead vocalist who fronts all the outfits, succesfully maintaining 12 month residencies at Crown Casino and at the infamous Carousel at Albert Park Lake (formerly) Niteclub to name a few. Nikki also fronts another popular cover band in Melbourne called Gee Whizz and runs a modernised gospel group ‘Angels of Harlem’ as heard in the movies Sister Act I& II.
Lee Scheri is the lead guitarist in all our available outfits and sings backing vocals. Coming from a background in playing spanish flamenco guitar at the age of 10, Lee branched out into the cover band scene at 16. Lee lists his major influences being Carlos Santana, George Benson & Steve Lukather from the legendary band Toto. Lee has worked with well-known melbourne cover band such as Catch 22, Rocket 88, Big Deal, Route 66. The Corsairs cater for Private & Corporate Functions, Weddings, Balls, All parties, Clubs, Pubs & Bars.
