Fushia started in early 2006 shortly after five school members from Brisbane were entered into a local band competition. With all members enjoying the experience (not winning anything but a good time), they then decided to form a band.

Due to problems of commitment the band was cut to three members, Ryan Nebauer, Joseph Jenner and RJ Steenakamp.

Fushia has already made finalist into two well known competitions (National Youth Week and Qsong).
