The O’Vera concept is best described as a “Diana Krall/Norah Jones” vibe that is constantly evolving with it’s interpretation of jazz & latin standards, classic & contemporary pop tunes all of which have been re-arranged in our own unique style presenting a warm, sophisticated & intimate small group ambience. WHO WE ARE: Jeni Lind (vocals), John Neeme (guitar) & Darcy Wright (double bass). JENI LIND – An experienced vocalist and dancer, Jeni has performed on national television and in major cabaret venues. She has been lead vocalist with several high profile covers bands, as well as touring as a backup vocalist for John Rowles. Jeni has starred in production shows on cruise liners, in theatre restaurants and she is also sought after as a choreographer and vocal coach JOHN NEEME – Guitarist, composer and arranger, John taught arranging and improvisation in the jazz department of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as well as playing in orchestras of major theatre, cabaret and international show rooms. John has written for major arena events as well as for film and television. DARCY WRIGHT – Legendary Australian jazz bassist, Darcy has played & recorded with many jazz bands & orchestras including Bob Barnard & Don Burrows. He has also performed overseas at major jazz venues & festivals as well as playing for many overseas jazz & variety artists.
WHERE WE PLAY: Apart from weddings & functions, the O’Vera Jazz Trio has & does play at many venues such as the Jazz Café at Balmain Leagues, Pruniers Restaurant Woollahra, Metro on George, Atrium Restaurant at Canterbury Leagues, Brighton RSL, Royal Motor Yacht Club Newport, St George Sailing Club, Castle Towers Piazza, Earlwood-Bardwell Park RSL, Castle Hill Country Club, Minchins Restaurant at Four Seasons Resort, Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club, Dee Why RSL, La Bar Darlinghurst, The Lounge Café Surry Hills, Annual Design Exhibition NIDA, Kareela Golf Club, Burwood RSL and the Wine & Cheese Fair at Club Menai.
