Line up(s) available: 3 piece (trio) We are a blues trio based in Melbourne. We combine a range of backgrounds. Tim, the guitarist and singer, has major interests in acoustic blues and a background in the Melbourne originals live scene. Paul, drummer, is a professional musician with a wide range of experience, including jazz. Adam started off in electric blues and his since moved into jazz, working with singers in various formats. These combine to add a wide range to the fundamentals of blues Tim expresses, at times with an almost jazz feel and at times with the full array of music that blues offers - listen to the version of Hoochie Coochie Man - nothing refined about that. And compare it with Five Long Years. We have been gigging regularly since the start of the year, after our debut gig late 2006. We are developing a distinct sound and approach, with lots of music and great variation to suit the audience and the moment. It may be that what we play is ‘Blues Fusion’: classical blues played differently. The Band: Drums: Paul Matcott Paul studied African music with Dr. Jeff Pressing at Latrobe; member of Adzohu, traditional African music/dance ensemble 1978-83. He has been a professional player since 1977. Worked in all styles of music - jazz, rock, original, covers, cabaret, Big Band, blues, funk.....ongoing work with John St Peters, top cabaret performer here and US.
