"Vikingo De Jerez" Rowland Schultz is a self taught Flamenco guitarist who was born into a family of artists in Avalon on Sydney's Northern Beaches where he spent most of his childhood listening watching or playing Flamenco. Nicknamed 'Vikingo De Jerez' Rowland is inspired by the Gipsy Flamenco artists of Andalucia Spain and has a sound very true to Jerez De La Frontera a small province in Andalucia Spain where Flamenco is considered to be very authentic.

Rowland also being an accomplished Oud player has infused the sound of the Oud within his very own unique style of Flamenco Guitar technique that has earned him praise from excellent musicians worldwide including Ginesa Ortega, Duquende, Tommy Emmanuel, Harri Stojka, Lulo Reinhardt amongst others.


Ostrie Music U.S.A have Endorsed Rowland with Daniel Mari Flamenco guitar strings and many other flamenco products. With recent sponsorship, two vintage guitars have been purchased for Rowland which he now uses to record his music, a 1973 Faustino Conde Hermanos Flamenco Guitar and a 1986 Mariano Senior Conde Hermanos flamenco guitar.

AER Germany have Proudly presented Rowland Schhultz with the Award winning Domino 3 amplifier for performance. Andalusian Guitars have proudly presented Rowland Schultz with handmade Custom Flamenco Guitars for exclusive performance use and promotions of Andalusian Guitars within Australia.

Rowland's very first album has been recorded in his very own personal flamenco recording studio (Duende Studios) and has been mixed and mastered by John Butlers Producer Robin Mai at Woodstock Studios whilst the album is due for release August 2010.


Michael Kontachristos accompanies on the cajon and is Endorsed by L.P Percussion, Michael's unique and exciting style of percussion based mainly in Flamenco and draws style and technique from Latin America and the Middle East. Proficient in All Styles of percussion and with a degree in classical percussion at the V.C.A. he is considered to be one of Australia's top percussionists amongst many, he now currently teaches at The Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne.

Staying true to the flamenco Art form for the last ten years he has performed with every Flamenco group in Melbourne. Michael has spent more than 25 years performing amongst the finest Flamenco & World Music Artists within Australia. Michael compliments Rowland's Guitar with precision and intensity that is rarely seen amongst duo's of this Calibre worldwide whilst he disassembles the compass in a way very much like an Indian Tabla player would, India being where the roots of Gipsy Flamenco Originate in Rajasthan.

Represented by Multi Cultural Arts Victoria, Rowland Schultz and Michael Kontochristos have performed as support act to Europe's largest 40 piece Gypsy Big Band (The Gypsy Queens and Kings) which featured Esma Redzepova - (Queen of the Gypsies) at the Arts Centre. At the Malt House Theatre alongside Simon Palomares in his theatre production (Its Complicated) Whilst Recently Rowland Schultz and Michael Kontochristos were invited to perform in Concert in Adelaide for the Guitar Fringe Festival 2009 whilst at Manchester Lane Rowland Schultz has performed solo as support act to Lulo Reinhardt (Gypsy Jazz Guitarist) from the famous Django Reinhardt Gypsy Family in Europe.
