Line up(s) available: 2 piece (duo) Duo Classique are a newly formed duo consisting of Craig on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, harmonica and a little bit on keyboard and the sweet voice of Joye on vocals, bass guitar, acoustic guitar and keyboard. Both are experienced talented musicians. The music of Duo Classique is classic pop/rock from the late 60’s/70’s and 80’s with styles ranging from folk to rock and is aimed at the people who grew up in those decades. They don’t use backing tracks or midis, preferring to interact and play with the vibe of the audience. Craig started playing guitar at the age of 18 and in his early years won several talent quests both as a solo guitarist and in duo’s, Craig then went into playing semi professionally in a number of bands before being offered a place in one of Brisbane’s top cabaret bands in the 80’s but declined, in favor of starting a family. Now retired at the age of 50 he is back playing the music he loves. Joye was born in New Zealand, but moved to Brisbane in the late 1980's. She has been singing since very young, and taught herself to play the guitar at the age of 9. She joined her first band in New Zealand as rhythm guitarist with backing vocals when she was 16. It was not till moving to Australia, did she decide to take her passion for music more seriously. She joined a duo as the singer and they performed around Brisbane, and also songwriting and performing original music with a local North Brisbane songwriting group. When a musician friend asked Joye to help him form a new band in 2004, she decided she would teach herself bass. Today she is still their bass player and backing singer along with four other members, one of which is also a member of an iconic Australian band and they continue to entertain all around the Sunshine Coast.
