Hi, I am Helen of Rainbow Mural Art and Face Painting. I was first inspired to pick up the face painting brush at a childcare party 5 years ago. My initial thoughts were – ‘hey, this isn’t as easy as it looks’, followed quickly by ‘this is the most fun I’ve had in ages!’. Kids and adults, boys and girls all adore face painting, and to tell the truth, I just love doing it. You just can’t get sick of seeing the surprise and delight when they see the transformation in the mirror, its magic!

When my family commitments led me to make a change in career, I decided to follow my heart and start up Rainbow Mural Art and Face Painting to combine my two creative loves and haven’t looked back.

I am a happy, cheerful Mum, always willing to go the extra mile to get a smile. I talk easily to kids and make each one feel special. I appreciate the importance acknowledging the birthday child (and siblings) and their special role as hosts on their Big Day. My experience has included face painting at private birthday parties, childcare facilities, district fairs, school fetes and community special events.

As a good organizer and communicator, I am able to plan and talk to you about your needs so on the appointed day you are provided with a fantastic face painting experience – no fuss, no surprises – just lots and lots of happy faces.

 

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What type of Face Paints do you use, are they safe?

Only the highest quality face paints, glitters and gems which are US FDA approved for use on faces are used. (Wolfe Brothers, Diamond FX and Snazaroo). They are water based (easily removed with water) and dry quickly to a soft powder finish which is light and easy to wear (no heavy caking or cracking!!). I have high standards of hygiene. I have Public and Product Liability Insurance Cover.

Q: Do you come dressed up in costume?

I prefer not to compete for attention with the birthday child, but I always dress distinctly with face paint or in rainbow costume and I would be happy to dress to a particular theme if requested.

Q: Do you supervise and entertain children with games etc?

No, this is not included. I concentrate all my energies on doing what I do best which is Face Paint! To do a great job requires full time attention to each child on a one-to-one level, and I always want to do a great job on every face.

Q: What are your rates?

Rates vary for Private vs. Corporate bookings, the number of face painters required, and the throughput required. All bookings have a fee of $50 which is included in all the standard rates listed below.

Private Parties:
The minimum callout fee is $100 for a solo face painter for private parties (i.e.$50 booking fee plus $50 for 1 hour or part thereof of face painting), thereafter the fee is $30 an hour or part thereof up to a maximum session time of 3 hours. This rate pays for a minimum of 10 full faces painted per hour from the fast and fabulous face range (all the favourites Tiger, Butterfly, Flower Princess, Skull, Monster, Clown, Spiderman, Pirate, Pretty Kitty, Puppy – plus a few new ones!). If you’d prefer smaller cheek art designs more faces can be painted per hour.

NOTE: Fees are charged per hour (or part thereof), however, you are guaranteed 10 full faces per hour and if the painter is unable to meet this time frame they will stay to complete it. However, please note, this assumes faces are available for painting and excludes delays or interruptions due to booked entertainment, or eating etc during the booked session.

Corporate Event bookings:
The minimum callout fee for a single artist is $130 (i.e. $50 booking fee plus 1 hour or part thereof of face painting). Thereafter it is $50 an hour up to a maximum session time of 3 hours. Some large venues may need higher throughput and request a second face painter. Fees for two face painters attending the venue start at $200 for the first hour; thereafter it is $100/hour up to a maximum session of 4 hours. Event throughput: we aim at 10 full faces per hour, however can offer cheek art, limited design or specific theme selections in order to increase throughput where there are large crowds. For sessions longer than 4 hours, or where up to 3 painters are needed, entertainer breaks and rates may be negotiated.

Payment and Confirmation:
After making a booking and selecting a timeslot, a deposit of 50% direct transfer will secure your booking, and confirmation of payment will be acknowledged by email. We commit to keeping in contact and will reconfirm your booking in by phone before the event. The remainder of fee is to be paid COD on the day.

Special Requests:
Custom, special themed and theatrical face painting designs are quoted separately depending on detail required, face numbers and location.
