On a delicate ride through one of Josh’s piano & vocal based performances, you’ll hear the hits ranging from the Beatles’ Yesterday, through to Lily Allen’s The Fear, without missing a beat or having to fly to London. Having started on the piano at the age of 7, Josh has you feeling young again; whether you’re at a wedding, in a bar, a private function or even your Grandma’s 70th birthday. Josh has even played entire sets completely improvised, created on the spot according to the ‘mood of the room’, not to mention his show-off ability to play entire songs with his eyes closed. Refreshingly, Josh is as professional in person as he is from behind the piano & microphone. Friendly, positive and confident, Josh is a pleasure to have around, on or off the stage, ensuring a tasteful, intelligent and most of all memorable evening of fun for all to enjoy.
Josh Needham’s performing interest began at a very early age. As a 6 year old, he starred in a school play which sparked his zest for the stage. Since then, he has performed in a wide variety of musicals, toured the country for his public speaking and engaged large crowds in his theatre sports activities. However his performance capabilities are honed when he sits down behind a microphone, and a piano at his fingertips. ‘Josh was fantastic! He played with heart and life - infused the room with vibrancy and energy. Overall, a great evening for any company’s Christmas party!’ As a classically trained musician, Josh completed all of his grades with flying colours. His journey has also taken him on adventures with a number of bands, beginning his song-writing at the age of 12. Since then he has conducted choirs, been a guest at Carols by Candlelight, won numerous song-writing awards and illustrated decadent performances the nation over. Josh has even been internationally requested for weddings in parts of Europe, and performed in the US on stage at private functions.
However whilst confident and always ready to party, Josh remains true to his art and true to his musicianship by maintaining the highest quality standard of musical performance through regular performing. ‘Josh played exactly what the party needed. I was a little nervous for my wife’s 30th birthday party because it was a cocktail party and I wanted it to be just right, but thankfully Josh smoothed the party over with ease. It turned out to be an awesome party! He even helped me serve some drinks! I’m really glad we chose him.’ Being offered jobs on famous tropical islands, through to world-class cruise ships, it’s a wonder that this boy has remained in Melbourne. Not surprisingly though, Melbourne isn’t complaining. However Josh’s availability for bookings in Australia may not be around for a whole lot longer. As an artist, Josh is currently under review by management and publishing. But until then he is still happily engaging crowds and putting smiles on the faces of men and women both young and old, water drinkers or wine-connoisseurs alike!
