Sleep Monday - Craig Obey ft Lady Lauryn

Profile Bookings
Based in: Melbourne VIC

Sleep Monday (Craig Obey Featuring Lady Lauryn ‘Sleep Monday’ is the new project from DJ/Producer Craig Obey and Lady Lauryn. Chunky electro & tech with trashy rockstyle female vocals can describe the sound of the first self titled track 'Sleep Monday'.

Lady Lauryn is in hot demand and has taken Sydney by storm recently using her jazz/soul experience to become the new Gwen Stefani of club dj vocalists.

Singing, rapping and MCing she can do it all. Not to mention she's a bombshell with a stage presence that'll leave your jaw dropped like you've just double dumped.

Obey had early club chart successes in Australia & UK as Funk Corporation. There were four 1's, four Top10's and four Top20’s on the ARIA chart and TOP10's on the DMC UK Chart and BUZZ Chart. In 2001 'Platinum Groove Project' ( a collaboration with Michael Di Francesco of VAN SHE) captured the 1 spot on the ARIA national dance chart. Ministry of Sound Australia's record label Hussle Recordings was prompt to sign him in as a solo artist and together went on to release his 1st original album "The Elektrik Force" The first releases from The Elektrik Force were ''coolin @ the.bar' & 'Hip-Ma-Tize-Me'.

The first track'coolin @ the.bar' had already been a hit in clubland with 7 weeks in the Top10 of the ARIA club chart and front of the box reports for many a UK DJ. Triple J in Australia added this track to its rotation as well as many regional radio stations. The second 'Hip-Ma-Tize-Me' features the vocals of Chance, the renowned house singer more recently appearing on Princes new album Musicology. 'Hip-Ma-Tize-Me' sold out of its first run of vinyl in the UK in only 1 week and with 'coolin @ the.bar' in its second repress it was time for the third release.

"Gonna Have To Pay' feat Abela dropped like a bomb. With Alex Neri on the remix and Ben Garden from Cabin Crew co producing 'Craig & Ben's Filthy Fuckin House Jam' it went straight to 5 on the ARIA Club Chart. Another top ten result. Shortly after the 4 track 'Summer EP' hit the stores as popular as ever with 2 chill and 2 mild house tunes showing a taste of the album to come. Picked up and thrashed by Big Brother 2007 'Feet' was the eviction song playing every week.

Now in 2008, with a recent North American Sleep Monday tour just finished, Ibizia in August, Asia in July, the gigging, producing and remixing has never been at such fever pitch. Drink Friday, Dance Saturday, Munt Sunday, Sleep Monday....

Sleep Monday new track was promo’d Friday for HUSSLE:
‘Craig Obey, the man behind Aussie club hits ‘Coolin At The Bar’, ‘Under The Milky Way’ and countless others, has returned with a refreshing rendition of rave classic ‘Love 4 Sale – Do You Feel So Right’. Combing warm synth lines, crisp tight drums and uplifting vocals, Obey’s ‘Tha Musik Tha Magik’ delivers this classic release in style for 2009. Supporting this hot original mix is a serious remix package with great deep house and tech mixes from ‘Ben Kelly’, ‘Marco Demark & Dave Manna’ and ‘Thompson & Jirgenson’’
