Jugularity plays an energetic mix of folk, jazz, blues, lounge, rap and gypsy music in a comedy-cabaret style. Jugularity is versatile - performing in concert, or as roving minstrels, or calling folk/bush dances or doing kids' shows. Jugularity is available for all manner of functions: festivals, fashion parades, weddings, divorces (half price if they played the wedding), open for inspections, wine tastings and other intimate occasions.

Bossa Negra

The Bossa Negra band is dedicated to the performance of Brazilian music. After almost 2 years traveling in Brazil and studying the numerous Brazilian music styles from Recife down to Rio de Janeiro, he has complied a repertoire that includes the styles of samba, frevo, maracatu, forro, MPB (Brazilian pop) as well as the famous bossa nova that dominated the world since the 1960’s.
Songs made famous by well known Brazilian composers and musicians such as; Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sergio Mendes, Jorge Ben Jor, Joao Gilberto, Elis Regina, Djavan, Milton Nascimento, Luiz Gonzaga and Pixinguinha are all included in the band’s repertoire.


 
Gypsy Crims

Infectious Gypsy Flamenco, Arabic and Latin Jazz dance grooves..... With such a broad range of styles in the band's pocket and such a huge repetoire of the styles just mentioned the band can perform for almost any function or event.


 
Carnival Gypsy Minstrels
Based in South East QLD, Brisbane, QLD

Playing a mix of passionate gypsy tunes, wild Klezmer, romantic French Waltzes, exotic Tangos, lively Tarantellas and more….. their music often inspires dancing in the streets! As well as playing for Festivals and Street Parties, this trio is also available for private functions. Formed in 2000, the Carnival Gypsy Minstrels have spread joy and merriment through their music at many Festivals and Events in SE QLD.


 
Afro Fairy

Bohemian Nights

The duo was originally named Gypsy Nights after a famous duo that entertained in the restaurants and cafes of Budapest in the 1930s.
Violinist Ernie Gruner and accordionist/singer Phil Carroll play:
Gypsy, Klezmer, Middle-Eastern, French, Italian, Russian, Jazz and Tango Music that ranges from soulful to wild.
Australian concerts highlights include the National Folk Festival and National Multicultural Festival. Phil and Ernie’s three NZ tours have included the Wellington Folk Festival and the Christchurch Jazz Festival.


 
Parisienne Swing

Parisienne Swing is an elegant, stylish and specialized act. A four piece Melbourne based group present their “Touch of Paris” feel and smooth jazz sounds to audiences nationally.
Their Repertoire is reminiscent of Parisienne Days gone by, features an original mix of gypsy, jazz and flamenco inspired originals and east European melodies. Jennifer and Martin sing both standards and original songs, hauntingly atmospheric mood pieces as well as fiery up-tempo instrumental passages.


 
Jorge Campano
Based in Sydney, NSW

Jorge Campano brings the beauty of the Spanish Andalucian music to Australia. He has a unique style as a guitarist, singer, composer and arranger. His style has the passion and fire of Andalucia, combined with the contemporary music of today – the result is a vibrant repertoire that captivates his audiences and has made him very popular on the Sydney live music scene. He performs as a soloist, but can also provide his trio or the group called 'Andalucia', which comprises three musicians and three flamenco dancers.


 
Afö
Based in Melbourne, VIC

Afö (Malinke for ‘speak’) is a traditionally based West African drumming ensemble performing high energy rhythms from the region of Guinea in West Africa. Afö draw on the traditional music of the Malinke people and in particular those taught by the highly renowned exponent of the tradition, Mamady Keita. Afö capture the essence of this undeniably powerful and engaging traditional music and present an explosive and mesmerising performance.

Céd Le Mélédo
Based in Melbourne, VIC

Paris born Céd Le Mélédo combines melancholy and joyous singing with Spanish guitar, harmonica and accordion. He sings in French, Spanish, Italian and English. He studied Spanish Guitar in Spain and USA and traveled extensively around the world to experience various musical traditions.


 
Kotek
Based in Melbourne, VIC

Kotek is traditional Balinese Bamboo Music. Kotek is Melbourne’s first and only Rindik ensemble. Rindik music is relaxed and atmospheric but it can also be very exciting – Kotek brings a little slice of Bali to every performance. A duo featuring Adam King and Jeremy Dullard on Rindik.

Not only is it rare to hear the sound of Balinese Gamelan in Australia, it is even rarer to see Australians playing the music with such precision and flair. Kotek brings traditional Balinese bamboo music (called Gamelan Rindik) to Australia.

 


 
Michelle Rounds
Based in Sydney, NSW

Michelle first performed live in Sydney in 1989 as "Running Late" with Michael J Kenny on piano at The Harbour Zone nightclub, Bathurst Street Sydney. She formed her soul band "The Quiet Storm" in 1992 with Ara Nessasian (keys), Victor Rounds (bass) and Con Settineri (drums) playing a three month residency at The York Tavern, Sussex Street. All these gigs were soul/Latin. She was also working as female vocalist for "Satumbainda" (Latin) and lead vocalist for 3-piece "Hot Tamales" (Mississippi Delta Blues).


 
Salvador Charli
Based in Sydney, NSW

Salvador Charli (formerly Urban Gypsies) are an instrumental Jazz/ Latin/ Classical/ Contemporary guitar duo. They also perform as a trio with percussion/ violin, or as a quartet with the addition of bass. Salvador Charli represents an exciting direction in Latin / Classical mixed with funk, rumba and gypsy swing. The music varies from fiery guitar virtuosity through to lounge bossa nova, classical pieces and popular classics.


 
The Rhythm Hunters
Based in Central Coast, NSW

The Rhythm Hunters are a world music ensemble based on the Central Coast of NSW. Asian flute music is woven delicately into the thundering sound fabric of drums to create a music of heaven and earth. Music is punctuated with tight physical choreography including complex stick-throwing routines; fast interlocking patterns on bronze Talempong and a melodic family of ornate pacific wood blocks. The Rhythm Hunters perform at corporate functions, community events, cultural ceremonies, gallery openings and music festivals. Drumming & Rhythm classes, workshops and team building are also offered.


 
One Africa
Based in Melbourne, VIC

One Africa is a beautiful new collaboration between Melbourne-based African artists Lamine Sonko (Senegal) and King Marong (Gambia). Rooted in the ancient Mandinka traditions of West Africa the duo combine their extraordinary talents to present an exciting blend of traditional African song, drumming and dance on instruments such as the djembe, boucarabou, doundoun and sabar. Lamine’s work as a performing artist has taken him on tours around Senegal and Internationally. King has built an international reputation as a master of many African drumming styles on instruments such as the Djembe, Doundoun and Sabar, teaching percussion to students from around the world.
