Developed by African-Americans in the early 20th century, Traditional Jazz has an element of Blues and Country and Western.

The Cubano Highball Trio are three fine musicians playing Jazz, Latin and Funk for the corporate and wedding scene in Brisbane. The group sizzles with a stylish interplay of piano, bass and percussion, bringing any sized space to life. Among others, the ensemble has been received warmly at functions hosted by Premier Peter Beattie at Parliament house and also by Lord Mayor Campbell Newman in City Hall. The Cubano Highball Trio offer hours of repertoire, a professional attitude and can provide their own P.A. system.


 
The Cat's Kitchen

The Cat’s Kitchen is available for your wedding, birthday or function. Debra Blaquiere performs with a quartet, and also a duo or trio, in more intimate settings. Her repertoire presents original jazz compositions, and very familiar pop, jazz, folk, blues and show tunes. Debra’s collection of song titles draws from a diverse range of influences that have enabled Debra to create her own unique style. She is a product of our time, and plays respectful homage to those who have influenced her such as Doris Day, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole Trio and the composers both pop and jazz of great American songwriters Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Joni Mitchell, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Burt Bacharach and many more.


 
Sally Street

Sally Street is a uniquely entertaining jazz and blues artist based in Sydney. In essence, Sally Street puts the muse back into music and brings the razzle dazzle into the magical world of jazz. Sally's debut album “Little Evil Me”, released under the Newmarket Music label offers a repertoire of tantalizing jazz and blues delights bubbling with mellifluous flights of fancy that will entrance and delight any pair of ears. Sally regularly performs at jazz venues as far and wide as the Opera Bar at Sydney Opera House to the Gold Coast Jazz and Blues Club in Surfers Paradise, and at private functions and weddings.


 
The Velvet Set

Hot House Big Band

Hot House Big Band is a twelve piece (or more) group performing swing music from the 30’s through to the 80’s. It comprises of two trumpets, two trombones, four saxophones, piano, guitar, bass, drums and a vocalist. The band pays tribute to the music made famous by bands like Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller. The group comprises of selected musicians based on their ability and enthusiasm for the style and the band boasts talented individuals, each with a great deal of experience in most musical settings and genres who have come together to share the exciting swing experience.

The East Side Jazz Band is one of Victoria's most popular Jazz Bands. The band is made up of some of Melbourne's finest musicians. They can move from very laid back swing style (Sinatra, Ellington, Connick Jr., Armstrong) to Latin Rhythms, Blues (Ray Charles), and Funk styles. They can play as small as a trio with a guitarist who sings in a Sinatra style with a sax player who doubles on trumpet and clarinet and a double bass player who sings. If you want the bigger sound the band adds drums and more brass or other instruments as required.
