The Country Music category consists of artists who have that special country sound. These musicians play covers and original songs with that unique poetry and emotion. Originally called Country and Western or 'Hillbilly' music, this music grew from folk music, blues and gospel to name a few.

Michelle Little
Based in Brisbane, QLD

Michelle Little is a classically-trained, diva inspired, honky tonk lovin', smouldering vocalist who, at 26 years old, has more than 15 years of performing experience. She released her first full album 'Hear Me Now' in December 2007 and her first single 'Free To Be Me' earned her a TIARA nomination and received airplay on radio both in Australia and in Europe. Whether its with a heart felt ballad like "Crazy" or a raunchy rendition of her latest single, "Forty Degrees", a quiet acoustic set or rockin' it out with her band, this girl knows how to sing and will draw you in!


 
BobKats
Based in Brisbane, QLD

BobKats are three dedicated musicians with a wealth of entertainment talent. The Band has toured nationally and internationally and appeared at almost every major Australian festival. They especially enjoy dance club nights and private parties. Nell slaps that bull fiddle like it owes her money. Nell’s sponsored bass has a paint job better than most custom cars and must be seen to be believed. Timmy Joe adds a whole new dimension to The Kats. Chops has the big voice and engaging personality. Chops Pulls the audience in a BobKats show and makes everyone feel they are part of the act.


 
Cathouse Creek

Cathouse Creek Cathouse Creek is an old fashioned alt-country band specialising in songs from the 1920's - 1950's. Comprising guitar, piano accordian, and bush bass with an emphasis on vocal harmonies, Cathouse Creek play danceable, foot-stomping good-time music as well as waltzes, gospel, and roots oriented material. Mature, professional, widely experienced, & exuberant, Cathouse Creek promises to make your event a memorable one! It's roots-blues-old time country music for weddings, parties and all events!


 
Kelly Hope
Based in Central Coast, NSW

Kelly released her self-titled debut album late 2006, with the first single "Heart Break Road"making the Top 30 on the Top 100 Country Hits chart as well as making the 2007 Top 100 Country Hits Of the Year at #97, with the accompanying filmclip seen on CMC. But her achievements as a singer/songwriter began many years ago. After some success in various talent quests culminating in a win at Echuca Moama’s Country Music Festival in 2003, where she won a trip for two, to entertain on the Tamworth Country Music Train.


 
White Goat
Based in Melbourne, VIC

White Goat is a three piece band established in the heart of the Waikato, New Zealand who has recently relocated to Melbourne Australia. This band is as crazy as their name!

The White Goat band has captured audiences all over New Zealand with its vitality and enthusiastic performances. With the release of their long awaited CD “Under the Influence” Their popularity has increased significantly, gaining independent radio airplay and recognition through out New Zealand.


 
Last Chance
Based in Melbourne, VIC

Last Chance is a group of guys who, after years of raising families, building careers and generally being busy, got together through the Weekend Warriors program in 2004. Under the guidance of Bob Spencer (ex Angels and Skyhooks) they rejoined the live music scene. The band has continued to hone their sound and skills since. They have performed extensively in clubs and pubs around Victoria over the last four years and have a growing list of regular venues.


 
Homer (Glenn Twiddle)
Based in Brisbane, QLD

How does one describe the ‘Homer’ experience. Well, it’s guitar, singing, carrying on, fun entertainment. So take a mix of the charisma of Robbie Williams, Frank Sinatra and Freddie Mercury, throw in some wide eyed humility of Garth Brooks, and a ‘reach for the stars’ attitude of Jon Bon Jovi and that’s the mix Homer is striving for (and often failing to hit, haha). With a repertoire of hundreds of songs, Homer can be used for Weddings, Parties, Anything (!) as a musician / singer / guitarist. 


 
Shari and The Mice
Based in Cairns, QLD

Their Rock sound with solid foundations in country and blues has earned them the respect of their fans and peers and their live shows leave the audience screaming for more. Following the success of her award winning debut solo album "Sunny" which has been receiving both international and national airplay, Shari Williams has joined forces with the Three Blind Mice to create one of the most dynamic live bands today.


 
Danny Hooper
Based in Clare, SA

Danny was inspired to reignite his dream to become a household name in Australian country music in 2007. His single Already Gone proved a success with #39 on the Top 100 Country Hits chart, and filmclip under the direction of Ross Wood for the track Heartache, making his second chart success on the CMC video chart, reaching #36.


 
Travers Tex Hammond - Legends of Country Music Show
Based in Langwarrin, VIC

Travers Tex Hammond is a silver-haired warm-voiced Australian story-teller, a bush balladeer and classic country singer with the ability to ring the ranges with a full throated yodel. He's a fine songwriter with the ability to make Australia's history come alive with great pioneering stories. But that's not the only string to this entertainer's bow. He's also a master whip-cracker and rope twirler.


 
Andre Camilleri & The Broken Hearts
Based in Melbourne, VIC

Andre Camilleri and The Broken Hearts are the latest addition to Melbourne's Alt Country music scene.
Andre’s song-writing is firmly rooted in the Blues tradition, voicing the lament of the down and out, broken hearted and alienated people. Influenced by the likes of Robert Johnson, Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams, Bo Diddley, George Jones, Gram Parsons, Johnny Cash, Townes van Zandt, Roky Erikson and Jay Farrar the Broken Hearts have created their own uniquely Australian take on ‘good country’ music.


 
Chad Shuttleworth
Based in Sunshine Coast, QLD

2008 CMAA College of Country Music Graduate Chad Shuttleworth is known for his cheeky sense of humour and confidence on stage. His unique jazzy voice brings a new flavour to the country music scene. His music and lyrics are both fun and memorable, revealing his personality and love for life. Chad is a cool, calm and collected person both on stage and off which has made him very approachable. He is a truly passionate entertainer who focuses on his audience inviting them to become involved in the fun.


 
Errol Gray - The Backyard Balladeer
Based in Coffs Harbour, NSW

From his home base on the north coast of NSW, singer/songwriter/entertainer and teller of tall stories, Errol Gray, travels the country with his one man show The Backyard Balladerr. With his acoustic guitar, stompbox, harmonica and a dry Aussie sense of humour, Erroll has his audience in stitches with songs and verse that reflect everyday situations and misfortunes that happen to us all.


 
Patti McKinnon
Based in Sydney, NSW

Patti has been in the International Country Music Charts TOP 200 for the last 2 years. During this time she has been in the Top 40 in many countries including Denmark, Israel, Ireland, Germany, & Poland. Is currently #8 in the Top 200 in the Worldwide charts compiled in The Netherlands way ahead of some very famous country singers.

Patti has toured extensively through the USA appearing at many venues in Nashville, Tennessee , Alabama & Texas where she worked with some “Legends of American Country Music”.She has just returned from a fantastic tour of New Zealand.

 


 
Jason Lee
Based in Sydney, NSW

Jason Lee’s first single, “Boy Into A Man” from his debut self-titled EP on air at Cool Country Radio 1476 2KA. Jason Lee began his career in music almost five years ago as a solo artist. Taking the public by storm, Jason Lee competed against over 175 entrants in the NSW & ACT Championship Showcase and the NSW Champions of Champions in which Jason Lee received an automatic entry two years running in one of Tamworth’s main events, Toyota Star Maker and also an automatic entry into the 2006 CMAA Australian College of Country Music.


 
The Beggars
Based in Adelaide, SA

The Beggars are an internationally acclaimed, but distinctly Australian, acoustic trio. Their unique blend of folk and country music with lashings of tasty vocal harmonies has quickly found an audience with music lovers far and wide. Their first single ‘Preacher I Have Sinned’ has appeared in national top 10 radio charts in the UK , Germany, France, Spain, Sweden, Belgium & Poland. The talented trio's tune has also climbed up the Australian and pan European charts. Beggars are also able to perform as a trio or as a quartet by adding a percussionist for larger functions.


 
Gerry Hale's Innocent Bystanders
Based in Melbourne, VIC

Gerry Hale's Innocent Bystanders is acoustic swing, flavored by bossa and salsa and even a of bit country at times. A major feature are two female voices that duck and weave around a dead-pan smooth jazz-style vocal. Songs range from Payday Blues to the epic Moody Richard (the innocent bystander himself), and Canned Music - warning of the dangers of live music where “my baby left me for the drummer.” Kinda funny songs but often with a darker side, all rich with harmonies and complex arrangements. He mixes it up quite a bit, from story songs to just plain jive : the deeper you listen, the better it gets


 
Dirt Road Special
Based in Melbourne, VIC

Dirt Road Special could be best described as an eclectic Country, Blues, Roots & Swing band - playing covers and originals of local and international artists. Their style of music is cruisey and very easy to listen to for those who want to chill with a glass of red or if you’re in the mood, get up and have a boogie.
