The Hip Hop & Rap Music category lists singers and musicians who either MC or DJ in the Hip Hop style. MCing (rapping) is an art in itself, with improvisation and rhyming lyrics running over a great beat created by the DJ. The DJ produces and scratches the music on turntables, drum machines, synthesizers or live instrumentation. The four elements of Hip Hop are MCing, DJing, graffiti and breakdancing.
