Bluegrass & Rockabilly Bands

The Bluegrass & Rockabilly Band category lists musicians who play the Bluegrass and Rockabilly branches of American roots music. Inspired by folk music, jazz, ragtime and blues, Bluegrass formed in the 1940's and may include instruments such as the harmonica, washboard, banjo and fiddle. Rockabilly grew out of America's south in the 1950's and includes the slap bass and upbeat tunes.

BobKats are three dedicated musicians with a wealth of entertainment talent. The Band has toured nationally and internationally and appeared at almost every major Australian festival. They especially enjoy dance club nights and private parties. Nell slaps that bull fiddle like it owes her money. Nell’s sponsored bass has a paint job better than most custom cars and must be seen to be believed. Timmy Joe adds a whole new dimension to The Kats. Chops has the big voice and engaging personality.
