Classical Music

The Classical Music category consists of musicians who play formal and contemporary Classical pieces and opera singers. Many of the musicians and singers will also cover popular modern songs and theatrical favourites. Classical music is defined as "a traditional genre of music conforming to an established form and appealing to critical interest and developed musical taste". Traditionally associated with high culture, this genre of music has origins that date back to the Medieval period.

Since they are really legitimate opera singers, the wine tastes better than ever and the singing is bigger than Ben Hurr. Both Sommeliers madly strip off their aprons - revealing glamorous outfits underneath. The female sommelier sings saucy songs, tailored to tease and delight the guests.

Surprise your guests with a string trio playing the latest hits; romantic music of Cole Porter, Frank Sinatra or Harry Connick Jnr; Irish jigs and reels or even a touch of ACDC.

Janice Preece, harpist is available for all elegant occasions including weddings and corporate events in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Her music will create that very special ambience to make your function outstanding and memorable. Janice plays a beautiful full size concert harp. Her wide-ranging repertoire features classical music, popular music, movie themes, Latin, Celtic and wedding music. Janice is happy to cater for any special music requests and for larger functions. The following ensembles are available: flute and harp duo, or flute, harp and cello trio.

In performance Phil Stormer is as intense and focused as he is joyful and entertaining, wowing audiences at showcase events, talent quests, functions, and concerts. Phil has found himself and his beloved guitar with several radio appearances, press reviews and articles, and in front of large crowds, who's appreciative cheer and standing ovations have been testament to this young performers technical ability and musical sensitivity.

Brad McCaw is quickly becoming one of Brisbane's most versatile performers. He is a classically trained Tenor, a committed music theatre actor and an emerging singer/songwriter. He offers professional and moving performances for weddings, functions and parties. He can be used as classical or contemporary vocalist to work alongside a string quartet.

Graham has developed his playing skills in classical, contemporary, relaxation/new age, jazz and blues: He brings to one’s establishment a wealth of experience and an accomplished contrast in styles. His playing appeals to the differing musical tastes of any audience whose attraction may range from the mellow introspective sound of new age piano to that of distinctive blues, the groove of jazz, bounce of honky-tonk, contemporary piano, or that of beautiful and charming classical.

The Lucca Ensemble consists of four dedicated professional young musicians based in Melbourne. Both of the violinists completed postgraduate qualifications with distinction at the Royal Academy of Music in London from 2003 –2005. They have worked with the London Chamber Players, the Royal Academy Soloists, Orchestra Victoria and the Melbourne, Western Australian and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras. The Lucca Ensemble offers an extensive range of repertoire - Classical, Pop, Blues, Tango, Jazz and Folk. The ensemble can also present as a trio or duo in response to individual need.

Jay Weston is one of the brightest new talents to hit the Australian music scene. Originally from Perth, this young entertainer has had many years of experience in numerous opera and theatre productions nationally and internationally. Jay is a tenor capable of a wide variety of styles, including Opera, Musical Theatre, classical and contemporary music. He is an accomplished pianist, arranging and performing his own accompaniment on his keyboards. All the musical arrangements for his CDs were performed and produced by Jay.

Formed from the cream of the classical collective, the Enigma String Quartet Sydney offers the highest calibre musicianship and presentation for the discerning client. These young professional musicians have the passion, energy and talent to set them apart and will add elegance and glamour to any occasion.

Sophia Mitchell is a Sydney based classical singer who also sings jazz, light pop and writes and records vocals for dance tracks. Classically trained at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Sophia can be seen performing opera and sacred music in recital around NSW. Sophia has extensive experience having performed at wedding ceremonies for over 10 years.

Linda offers a unique and hauntingly beautiful performance blend as a harpist and singer. Combining Celtic heritage and classical training she is unlike any performer in Melbourne. Irish melodies intermingle with mystical songs of the Celts while classical favourites complement the charm that comes only from a song sung in French. For over ten years she continued to charm hundreds of audiences in both Queensland and NSW featuring as a special guest for concert events or creating a subtle ambience for corporate functions and weddings.
