Blues Bands

The Blues Band category contains musicians and guitarists who specialise in blues and blues and roots music.
This style of music derives from early 20th century African-American secular music, typically using 4/4 rhythm and a 12-bar structure. The phrase 'the blues' is a reference to having a fit of the blue devils, meaning 'down' spirits, depression and sadness. As evident in the lyrics of blues songs.
To quote B.B. King, "The blues is an expression of anger against shame and humilation".
