Electro Pop

Electropop (also called Technopop) is a form of electronic music produced with synthesizers, and which first flourished in the late 1970s. Numerous bands have since carried on the electropop tradition, with most electropop songs being pop songs at heart, often with simple, catchy hooks and dance beats.

Sleep Monday (Craig Obey Featuring Lady Lauryn ‘Sleep Monday’ is the new project from DJ/Producer Craig Obey and Lady Lauryn. Chunky electro & tech with trashy rockstyle female vocals can describe the sound of the first self titled track 'Sleep Monday'. Singing, rapping and MCing she can do it all. Not to mention she's a bombshell with a stage presence that'll leave your jaw dropped like you've just double dumped.

Together they envisioned a band that would leave out the tried candy floss of cover band entertainment, that would perform music of integrity for which they knew there existed a large audience - of those that craved The Cure, David Bowie, The Presets, Joy Division, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, The Dandy Warhols and so on.

DJ Sinistral’s musical training is evident in his mixes and productions - he uses cutting edge techniques while maintaining strong musicality and energetic performances to ensure the punters are enthralled. In performance, Sinistral shuns the typical ‘too-cool’ attitude of so many DJs, instead adopting a big movements approach, conducting his virtual orchestra of synthesisers and drum machines with big attention grabbing gestures! Kinda like a skinny Carl Cox… skinny and white. You can have a live original electro show (Ma Sheen) or a DJ with the most eclectic selection of party tunes (DJ Sinistral).

Emaar consists of songwriter/producers Robert Upward and Matteo (Upacci label) and vocalist Ellie Henderson. Robert and Matteo have developed a distinct style & sound whether it be within commercial dance, electro-pop, dark club or even vocal ballads. To date the music of Emaar has featured on radio playlists all over Australia. The club remixes have been part of DJ playlists (e.g. Tiesto, Van Burren, Cosmic Gate) and dance parties all over the world. Emaar also have the ability, as musicians, to support their sound with live shows that can be either intimate and acoustic or powerful and energetic!

Conspiracy of influence are a 3 piece alternate rock band from the far north coast of NSW. In September 2009 the band released an album titled “The Johnston Street Experiment”. The bands sound cross a number of genres including rock, pop, metal, and electro. Some of the songs have been described as sounding 80’s due to the use of synthesizers, some tracks are also quiet heavy with distorted guitars and metal drum beats.

My DJ career started for me when I was 17 years old when I started going along with a friend of mine to gigs at the Chevron Night Club. I have played at many venues and have had a lot of experience with the club scene and always cater for my crowd and know how to read and vamp up my crowd in a professional manner. Incrementalist is Kieran Bahlmann from Ma Sheen. Ma Sheen, spanning many influences and elctronic genres sets them apart from the rest. Original intelligent grooves and solid beats make people want to see the head-banging-hip-shaking Ma Sheen! Combining so many electronic genres and boasting one of the most diverse sets, the club scene never sounded so good. Ma Sheen is made for everything positive in life - to create sonic dimensions that draw attention, build tension and let release. Need some fresh new sounds? Need to dance, groove and re-energize? Sexlectro is made up of Billy Neckovski and Chris Muvceski (Dj Billo & Dj Muv) with the inclusion of mc dale! Bill and Chris have been producing and remixing for a number of years now
