Acoustic Music

The category of Acoustic Music consists of musicians who do not play 'electric' instruments, such as the electric guitar. These bands, solos, duos and trios play music with less of an 'electric' sound, focusing on the natural sound of the guitar and vocals.

The Partners are a dedicated duo, trio or four-piece band based in Melbourne. Their extensive repertoire ranges from the 60’s to the present with Blues, Pop, Soul, Folk and Soft Rock. They work well as background music, but in other circumstances they’re known for getting people up dancing.

Meliki is an emerging young professional artist with extensive musical training and experience as a performer. Her large repertoire of guitar instrumentals, vocal/acoustic covers and originals see her performing regularly as a soloist, duo or band. With prior performances at community and theme festivals, cafes, hotels, premier venues including Crown Palladium and Live, and the Rialto, private weddings, gallery openings, awards/charity nights, council/corporate events, private parties for 18ths/21st/engagements, she sets a musical atmosphere to suit your event.

Ray, Hall & Steel is not just another covers act – it is an experience. Awesome vocals, ripping guitar, ultra smooth rhythms, big songs, man if you aren’t having a ball at the RHS show you better check your pulse… RHS extend their exciting covers show to corporate functions, weddings and various pubs/clubs in and around Melbourne. With a song-list branching out over five decades (incl. The Beatles, Roy Orbison, Rolling Stones, Inxs, U2, Pink, Snow Patrol), the boys put on a show that must be seen/heard to be believed especially considering the huge sound they create as just a trio - with no use of backing tracks. During his residences at Crown Casino, Murmur Bar, Mint Bar, The British Crown, Metro, The Esplanade and many others, Pete has shown that he can taylor his music to suit any occasion. From Top 40 to Jazz, Classic 60s to World Music, Pete's catalogue provides either captivating entertainment or atmospheric background music. He is one of the most versatile performers in Melbourne.

Alex Bell is an acoustic solo musician and an intriguing performer, whom executes vocals and guitar with expert precision and finesse. He knows many of your all time favourites along with more recent hits. His obvious passion for music engages a variety of audiences and he entices the listener with his versatility. As an audiophile, his equipment is of the highest quality and suitable for almost any venue from background music in small corporate get together to the main event at a massive New Years Eve party.

Smokey and Seano are the guys you want around at a party or function. A couple of old-school musos who have been playing around the traps since the early 90’s. Their repetoire is largely made up of the best Australian songwriters; Paul Kelly, Bernard Fanning, Neil Finn, Tim Rogers and Nick Cave. All the classic oldies from around the world and carefully selected contemporary pop hits. So if you’re looking for a couple of quality musos to churn out all the crowd favourites and have everyone shakin’ it on the dance floor, or play a sophisticated laid-back set in the background to hum along to, Smokey and Seano are your men.

An emerging unique folk/roots performer from Australia already well established as an award-winning fingerstyle guitarist. Dale meld's elements of folk/roots, funk, and blues together with soulful songwriting in dynamic and enchanting live solo performances using specially modified Maton and Cole Clark Acoustic guitars that produce not only acoustic guitar tones but also independent bass notes. Combined with an Ellis acoustic stompbox and on occasion a percussionist/drummer, the result is a jaw-droppping one man show with a distinct strong groove element.

Phil has been performing in bands – top 40, blues, rock and original – as lead guitarist and vocalist for over 20 years. More recently, he has moved into solo and duo performance with his repertoire consisting of great songs, impassioned delivery and tasteful guitar accompaniment. He has also taught guitar and bass as a professional tutor for over 15 years. He performs with conviction, professionalism, honesty and zeal.

Martin Cox is a highly versatile pianist/singer who is as comfortable playing soft jazz in a cocktail lounge as he is belting out soul, rock’n’roll or Latin dance songs (sung in fluent Spanish) with full backings on his keyboard. He has years of experience playing in restaurants, hotels, weddings, corporate functions and festivals here and in Spain and can read the audience like the palm of his hand. His enormous repertoire covers music from the 1920’s to now, encompassing jazz, pop, rock’n’roll, Latin, soul, Motown, folk, classical and his own songs and improvisations. Rattle and Hum is the definitive U2 tribute show. Formed in 1997 the band captures the energy of U2 like no other tribute show before it. Providing the audience with an authentic show that takes them through a visual and musical history of U2. Not only do Rattle and Hum wear replica U2 costumes made especially for the show to depict all of U2's different eras, they also use replica instruments and amplification such as the VOX AC30 that the real U2 use themselves!

Multi award-winning young singer songwriter of beautiful jazz infused songs. Craig Sternberg & Damian Cutler are Azio Acoustic. Having played together for years they continue to enjoy popularity, especially in their home town of Ballarat. Azio play stripped back rock covers with their own flavour added to each song. They are well known for their fearlessness to take on some of rocks biggest songs and perform them purely acoustic, and without the assistance of sequencing or backing tracks. It’s 100% live.

Acoustic duo Insideout consist of male and female vocal harmonies and guitar. Blending upbeat rhythmns and eerie lyrics, they play original music as well as covers. Well suited to an intimate setting or background music. Can and have played play 'weddings, parties, anything... Covers include, Paul Kelly, Crowded House, Bic Runga, Midnight Oil, Tracey Chapman, Jack Johnson, Kasey Chambers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Tim performs an assortment of songs ranging from country ballads to hard rock, complimenting them with acoustic guitar playing styles ranging from soft finger-picking to funky and danceable rhythms. Counting By Numbers are a versatile duo that can tailor their performances to suit your entertainment needs. From popular jazz standards to top 40 covers, Counting By Numbers can create a set list to suit corporate events, weddings and birthdays, or pub/café style gigs. As an acoustic duo they are perfect for intimate functions where laid back jazzy sounds are called for. They also have the ability to augment their sound with piano/keyboards and percussion for those larger events. Rachel is an exciting new talent on the Sydney Scene with extensive musical training and experience as a performer. Her repertoire covers all genres from country to jazz, pop and easy listening, and of course her own original songs. Rachel sings and plays guitar live and uses professional recorded backings to fill out the sound. Rachel’s nicely balanced repertoire is perfect for intimate dining and can wind up when your ready to "shake your tail feather”. Rachel can sing at your Wedding Ceremony as well as the Reception and her wide repetoire will suit private functions, corporate events, restaraunts or bars, always creating the right mood for the occasion.

Playing a mix of passionate gypsy tunes, wild Klezmer, romantic French Waltzes, exotic Tangos, lively Tarantellas and more….. their music often inspires dancing in the streets! As well as playing for Festivals and Street Parties, this trio is also available for private functions. Formed in 2000, the Carnival Gypsy Minstrels have spread joy and merriment through their music at many Festivals and Events in SE QLD.

Jorge Campano brings the beauty of the Spanish Andalucian music to Australia. He has a unique style as a guitarist, singer, composer and arranger. His style has the passion and fire of Andalucia, combined with the contemporary music of today – the result is a vibrant repertoire that captivates his audiences and has made him very popular on the Sydney live music scene. He performs as a soloist, but can also provide his trio or the group called 'Andalucia', which comprises three musicians and three flamenco dancers.

Jessica Paige and Glenn Cannon are both artists who have many national and international accolades for their musicianship and artistry. For your special function they will perform beautiful jazz standards, played superbly and sung divinely. VCA graduate Glenn, is a master guitarist and a seasoned international performer. Jessica has a swag full of national and international awards for her songwriting and performance skills including an APRA award and a JB (John Butler) Seed award.
