A Capella Groups
A Capella GroupsThe A Capella category includes vocalists who sing without the accompaniment of instruments. This form of singing can be choral or performed solo. The expression in Italian means "in the style of the chapel". Historically, it was religious music composed for use in chapels, specifically smaller churches that did not have organs, thus written for voices only. A Capella was used in Christian, Jewish and Muslim religious services and even includes Gregorian chanting. Contemporary A Capella can include the vocalist emulating instruments, in which words are not used, instead the singer produces a melody with the vocal chords. |
